Fish pox is also known as carp pox. This is a viral infection that usually afflicts koi more often than goldfish. Visible signs of this disease include large white patches that cover large areas of the fish. The white patches resemble a white or pinkish waxy substance in appearance. Keeping the water clean is a way of preventing this disease from occuring , because there is no cure for this disease. It is also a good idea to isolate the sick fish in order to prevent the disease from spreading to the ones that are healthy.
